Industrial training institute, Srinagar was established in September 1957 . Pioneering Skill Development in the District Srinagar.

The Institute under the guidance & support of National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), DGET, Ministry of labor and Employment, Government of India and State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT), Department of Skill Development UT Government of Jammu & Kashmir is rendering its services by imparting vocational training in job oriented courses including short term courses.
